Providing quality, safe entertainment that is truly unique! Also an aspiring model with a range of experience, Hoopnosis is an ideal hire for a range of types of event! Experiences like this give this artist strong skills in public service. From craft sales to walking runways, this artist is highly versatile and has experience with crowds in many capacities.
The first aspect that started my company was hoop making. From February of 2009 to the Spring of 2016, I buillt hand crafted, quality, affordable hoops in an effort to promote activity and vitality in people of all ages. I specialized in customizing and traveling vending. In person sales allowed for proper fitting and review of tips to ensure the client makes the best educated hoop purchase. Hoops have many uses; Great toys for kids...or great exercise for kids! The same is true for adults- They're a fun, effective, portable workout tool for anyone looking to get or maintain a healthy body type. They're great for parties and other events and make great gifts! So for many years, Hoopnosis made hoops in a variety of sizes and styles for all needs and budgets.
The second part of my business was teaching and spreading the benefits of hoop dance, flow arts, and fire arts for both fitness and fun. I have been blessed to be able to instruct students both in the U.S.A and abroad which has further enriched my teaching concepts which is that all props and students are unique. Creativity and individualism is not only encouraged, but nurtured. Having also taught in schools, my goal was to help permanently integrate hoop dance and other flow arts into the educational system at the grammar, high school, and college level. I have had success with this and are truly thankful for that opportunity. When teaching fire arts, I utilized my EMT education to help increase medical awareness and preparedness. I have worked to help fire arts troupes and individuals to strengthen their medical knowledge and to implement effective safety parameters. Performing arts experience for me ranges from fire safety assistant, to performer, to group director. I use a strict and extensive curriculum adhering to OSHA and NAFAA protocols to ensure proper education, practice, and supervised use of fire tools.
& The third and main focus of Hoopnosis is my pursuit of unique performing arts. My athletic and dance background in childhood as well as ancestral descendance from performance artists, has given me a unique mix of influences and experiences. It is my goal as a circus arts/fire arts performer to always be pursuing new and interesting props. Specializing in custom props; the Fire Faery's shows aren't something you're likely to forget!
I'm an insured glow and fire performer through Specialty Insurance Agency and certified by NYS as EMT #337727. Certified with American Heart Association for BLS, CPR, and AED and Erie County certified MERS Operator (Medical Emergency Radio Operator).
Having approval from/worked with numerous fire departments such as Bridgeport, CT for Gathering of the Vibes 2010, North Tonawanda and Tonawanda's fire departments for Canal Fest in NY (2010-2012), as well as Gowanda, Buffalo, and Wilson NY, I'm familiar with most fire departments protocols. My equipment and setup is to OSHA standards in accordance with the NAFAA (North American Fire Arts Association).
My experience with indoor performances for venues such as Paradise in Salamanca NY, The Dnipro Ukrainian Cultural Center in Buffalo NY, Hotel Lafayette Buffalo, NY and for Amherst Community Church in Amherst NY, combine with my medical and safety training, make me a good candidate to provide this fabulous entertainment to a variety of types of venues. I also enlist the service and assistance of a train fire safety during my shows. I've performed both indoors and out; for music and art festivals and other events around the country. Formulating shows for all ages, I believe hoop dance and glow and fire shows can be both family fun and quality adult entertainment*
As a New York State EMT certified, insured glow and fire arts performer, incorporating crowd interaction and safety reviews are important to me. I utilize and incorporate my medical background to bring respect and understanding to the in depth world of flame manipulation. I'm insured through Specialty Insurance Agency- an American based company insuring vendors and performers for over 40 years.
My goal is to promote the mental and physical health benefits of hoop dance and glow and fire dance while advocating and teaching the necessary safety. For performing, I use a variety of props based on the type or time of the show, or surroundings. For daytime & non fire shows I use colorful hoops, poi, and fabric fans, LED poi and hoop, and a variety of fire props including, but not limited to: palm torches, fire fans, fire hoop, fire umbrella, fire head dress, and fire eating! Combining the use of these fabulous tools, fun outfits, and music to create a fun, unique open flame performance everyone will remember!
My final goal is to be well rounded in the entertainment industry and with what I have to offer; whether you need an amateur clown, certified bartender, or a model, Hoopnosis strives to provide for everyone's needs. As a performer, my current goal is pursuing circus quality productions and the lost art of sideshow performance. My long term goal is create a school/studio catering to unique performing art forms (especially fire arts).
